Non-traditional methods of recruitment

There are countless ways to reach candidates. In the Czech Republic, we mainly encounter traditional methods like referrals or LinkedIn. Is there a position that has been open for a long time that needs new candidates, but you feel that you have reached out to everyone? Non-traditional sourcing for candidates could solve the resulting deficit. Come read about the most flamboyant ones and expand your recruiting options!

Why expand on established practices?

It is necessary to realize that it is not a question of replacing functional procedures, but enriching them. Simply put, Generation Y and Generation Z, the internet generation, are beginning to dominate the labor market. Therefore, most interactions take place online.
Why not stick to the old ways and use familiar applications? Well, it is primarily about originality and the impression you will make on the candidate. The Internet-dominant generation will perceive this act as unique and special, even if it is subconsciously. So, what are the applications that can be used for recruitment?

TIP! Dazzle candidates with interesting employee benefits! But which ones?

1. "Swipe right" a new candidate!

The well-known Tinder mobile application, which enables people to establish contact, has recently started to be used abroad to address candidates. The plan is simple. Just create a company profile, or a specific job offer, and simply swipe between user profiles. Many users write their occupation, education, and hobbies in their profiles, turning most profiles into unintentional resumes that are immediately available to you.

2. Create a playlist

The giant corporation Amazon has proudly used the music platform Spotify to successfully recruit. So, how does it actually work? All you have to do is create a profile on Spotify, ideally a company one, and make a playlist that you will send to candidates along with a job offer. Either build a playlist with quality music or be more creative and create a message through song titles. Hello by Adele is the obvious first choice!

3. Build an ad on TikTok

The world's most downloaded app, which is very popular with the younger generation, provides many options for reaching this generation of candidates. You can use TikTok to share various educational videos related to your business. Recruiters can evaluate potential candidates based on their videos and then reach out to them directly. This finding led TikTok to create a pilot program that can help job seekers connect with employers using the hashtag #TikTokResumes.

4. Make an impression with Snapchat

Known as the social media playground, Snapchat allows you to create creative images and short videos to impress the viewer. Using short videos, you can introduce the team the person would work with, take a picture of their future office, or link the job position onto the image. By connecting through Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat, you will definitely expand your marketing reach.

Attention! Many think that Snapchat is an app for kids and teenagers, but you should remember that over 50% of users are over 25 years old!
