So, how can you continue to fuel this initial passion when the daily burden and exhaustion begin to drag you down? Well here are some ideas on ways to stay motivated, excited, and invigorated by the same passion that led you to a career in HR.

Learn something new

If you feel stuck and unsure of how to expand your HR experience, learning something new is a great way to push yourself and develop a new skill to progress your career. One great way to do this is through training programs and certifications. These give you a structured course with experts and resources that can show you new facets of HR and ways to advance yourself and your organization.

Tip: Check out this opportunity to earn an international certification as a recruiter or sourcer from a 4 day course taught by 8 HR masters by Recruitment Academy.

Set goals

Feel inspired by your job by thinking about where it can take you. Where do you want to be in 1 year, 5 years, or even 10? Analyzing the big picture will help you realize what aspects you love and want to expand on in your current position. This may motivate you to create smaller goals that will push you towards success. For example, you might feel fulfilled by recruiting and matching the right employees to your company. This could lead you to create smaller goals like expanding your talent pool,  or taking an initiative in the hiring process. The first step to reaching your goals is setting them, and nothing feels more motivating than accomplishing a goal.

Tip! Take a look at our educational blogs and the hiring process will never be complicated again!

Stay connected

It's unlikely that inspiration will come out of nowhere. Sometimes you have to seek out the information that is intriguing to you or that will spark a passion for your career. One great way to do this is by getting connected to the HR community outside of your office. Believe it or not, there are tons of HR focused media outlets, from podcasts, to newsletters, to blogs, there is no lack of HR focused media for you to dive into. If those don’t interest you, you can also get connected with HR by following some leaders of the industry on social media. Josh Bersin, founder of Bersin by Deloitte, posts great information on LinkedIn, Meghan Biro CEO of TalentCulture shares her thoughts on Twitter, and author José Kadlec, the first officially certified LinkedIn recruiter in Central and Eastern Europe, posts all things HR related for his LinkedIn audience. These are just a few HR icons that are great to follow and possibly learn from.
